The crypto market was little changed over the past 24 hours. Total market value moved +0.5% to $2.75 trillion as of 13:00 UTC on Monday, October 19, 2026. Bitcoin traded at $82,474 (+0.7%) and Ether at $2,422 (+0.3%). 35 of the 50 largest coins were higher, and the median move was +0.6%.
Why is crypto flat today? What the numbers show
- Breadth. There was no clear direction: 35 of 50 large coins rose and 15 fell, so gains in some coins offset losses in others.
- Bitcoin versus altcoins. 22 of the other 49 large coins beat Bitcoin, so leadership was split. Bitcoin dominance stands at 60.2%, and Ether underperformed Bitcoin by 0.3 percentage points.
- Trading activity. 24-hour volume across the market was $68.1 billion, up 55.8% on the previous day. Volume did not change sharply, so the move was not driven by a surge of trading.
- Bitcoin’s 24-hour range. From $80,729 (20:20 UTC, Oct 18) to $83,035 (07:35 UTC), a 2.9% swing. The high came after the low.
