A wider base of buyers
News.bitcoin described Wednesday’s action as a shift in the character of demand. Monday’s $526.60 million surge was overwhelmingly driven by IBIT, but two sessions later almost the entire market was participating. Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust, Franklin’s EZBC and Valkyrie’s BRRR completed the broad advance.
Activity also expanded. Trading value climbed to $3.15 billion and net assets reached $109.31 billion.

Crypto.news placed the rebound against a weaker prior stretch, reporting that bitcoin funds lost $228.4 million in the week of October 12 to 16, following about $678.9 million of outflows the week before. News.bitcoin put last week’s bitcoin ETF withdrawals at roughly $229 million. The two outlets agree on the scale of the pullback.
Ether, solana and smaller funds
Gains beyond bitcoin were uneven. Ether ETFs took in $14.96 million on Wednesday, News.bitcoin reported, led by Grayscale’s Ether Mini Trust at $28.07 million and Fidelity’s FETH at $13.03 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSSE, Franklin’s EZET and Bitwise’s ETHW also attracted capital. Crypto.news described ether inflows as approximately $15 million, ending five consecutive sessions of withdrawals. News.bitcoin noted ether ETFs had still lost roughly $114 million for the week.
Further down the risk curve, solana ETFs ended a 12-session outflow streak with $585,300 into Morgan Stanley’s MSOL, per News.bitcoin. Crypto.news characterised the run as a 13-session outflow streak and put the inflow at roughly $585,000, one of several small discrepancies between the two reports. Zcash ETFs drew $15.18 million through Grayscale’s ZCSH, NEAR products added $830,700 and XRP ETFs finished with $708,520; Crypto.news put XRP inflows at about $709,000.
Why it matters
The change is in participation rather than the headline number. A recovery spread across eight issuers suggests institutions were adding exposure broadly, while last week’s selling indicated they had cut risk. For investors watching ETF flows as a gauge of demand, the wider distribution is harder to attribute to one fund’s marketing or a single large allocation. News.bitcoin also noted Grayscale’s move to expand in-kind subscriptions across 10 digital-asset products, which could reduce the need for large holders to sell assets for cash before moving into fund shares.
What to watch
The immediate test is whether the breadth holds through the end of the week, when the next set of daily flow figures is published. Crypto.news also pointed to bitcoin’s price behaviour, having retreated after approaching $85,000, with a TD Sequential sell signal near that level cited by analyst Ali Martinez and a subsequent buy signal near $82,000. Those indicators are technical observations, not forecasts. This is not financial advice, and crypto markets are volatile and uncertain.
