US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs returned to net inflows on Monday, attracting about $110 million after roughly $774 million was withdrawn over the two previous trading sessions, according to Cointelegraph. The rebound, first reported by Cointribune, came as Bitcoin continued to trade below $80,000.

Despite the daily gain, October remained a negative month for the funds, with approximately $202 million in net outflows through Monday, Cointelegraph reported. That figure appears only in Cointelegraph’s account; Cointribune focused on the weekly picture instead.

Key facts

  • US spot Bitcoin ETFs drew about $110 million in net inflows on Monday, October 26, per SoSoValue data cited by both outlets.
  • The funds had lost about $774 million across the two prior sessions: $635.6 million on Thursday, October 22, and $137.9 million on Friday, per Cointribune.
  • For the week of October 19 to 23, ETFs finished with roughly $301.2 million in net inflows, ending two straight weeks of withdrawals, Cointribune reported.
  • October remained about $202 million in net outflows through Monday, according to Cointelegraph.
  • Bitcoin traded at $79,595 at Cointelegraph’s publication time, down 2.6% over seven days, per CoinGecko.

BlackRock and Fidelity drove the outflows

Two managers accounted for most of the previous week’s selling. On Thursday, October 22, BlackRock lost $254.1 million and Fidelity $217.5 million, Cointribune reported. On Friday, BlackRock’s IBIT saw about $110.3 million in outflows and Fidelity’s FBTC $31.8 million. Over the two sessions, BlackRock lost $364.4 million and Fidelity $249.3 million, together nearly 80% of the $773.5 million withdrawn.

Other funds moved far less. Morgan Stanley attracted about $4.2 million on Friday despite the wider weakness, according to Cointribune. Neither outlet could yet identify which managers drove Monday’s $110 million rebound, and Cointribune noted that the October 26 session data were still incomplete.

Sentiment cools as BTC trades below $80,000

The rebound in flows has not yet translated into a clear price recovery. Cointribune put BTC at around 79,730 USDT on Binance, after briefly climbing above $80,000 over the weekend. Cointelegraph placed it at $79,595 and noted a 2.6% decline over seven days. The two quotes differ slightly and are captured at different times.

Market sentiment has softened accordingly. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index fell to 48 from 50 the previous day while staying in “Neutral” territory, Cointelegraph reported. CryptoQuant data cited by Cointelegraph also showed retail investors sending more Bitcoin to Binance, with retail deposits nearly doubling to $10.8 billion over 30 days while large holders’ deposits fell to $3.8 billion. Analyst Darkfost suggested smaller investors might be using the recent price rebound as a chance to sell.

Cointribune reported that Glassnode identified support at $80,000 to $81,500 on October 21, with the upper figure corresponding roughly to the average cost basis of Bitcoin ETF investors. Below that, Glassnode places the average market cost basis near $77,500.

Why it matters

The flow figures show that institutional demand for Bitcoin through ETFs remains active but uneven. A $301 million weekly gain masked $1.07 billion of inflows over the first three sessions that were largely given back by Friday. A single $110 million day recovers only about 14% of the prior two-day outflow, so it is not yet evidence of a sustained accumulation trend.

What to watch

The Federal Reserve holds its policy meeting on October 27 and 28, with the decision followed on October 29 by the September PCE inflation reading. Confirmation of the full October 26 flow data and whether Bitcoin can reclaim $80,000 will also shape the next move. This is not financial advice; crypto prices and fund flows are volatile and uncertain.
