  11. 11How this wrap is made

It was a broadly negative week for crypto. Bitcoin fell 1.9% over the seven days to October 25, 2026 and traded at $80,309 when this wrap was compiled. 13 of the 50 largest coins finished higher, and the median move was -3.3%.

The week in numbers

  • Total crypto market value: $2.69 trillion (-1.3% since our last wrap on October 18)
  • 24-hour trading volume: $52.6 billion
  • Bitcoin dominance: 60.1% (down from 60.2%); Ether holds 10.6%
  • Bitcoin: $80,309, -1.9% on the week, -5.0% over 30 days
  • Ether: $2,332, -3.3% on the week, -14.2% over 30 days

Bitcoin: a 6.3% range

Bitcoin’s high for the week was $84,778 on Wednesday, October 21, and its low was $79,730 on Saturday, October 24. The low came after the high, so the larger move inside the week was downward. At $80,309, the price sits in the lower third of that range and 36.3% below its all-time high.

Ether and the ETH/BTC ratio

Ether underperformed Bitcoin by 1.4 percentage points. One ETH now buys 0.02904 BTC, against 0.02947 at our last wrap. The ratio is a quick read on appetite for risk beyond Bitcoin: it tends to rise when money moves into smaller assets and fall when it retreats to Bitcoin.

Market breadth

16 of the other 49 large coins beat Bitcoin this week. Bitcoin held up better than most of the market, a sign that traders favoured the largest asset this week.

How this wrap is made

Every figure here was calculated by CoinPulseHQ from CoinGecko market data recorded on October 25, 2026 at 14:00 UTC.
