BNB Chain has completed its 37th quarterly token burn, permanently removing 1,646,196 BNB worth roughly $1.197 billion, according to U.today. The tokens were destroyed directly on BNB Smart Chain (BSC) and sent to a burn address, so they can no longer be used.

Separately, Ambcrypto put the burn at 1.64 million BNB, valued at approximately $1.197 billion, and reported that BNB’s price recovery still left sellers in control of momentum.

Key facts

  • The 37th burn removed 1,646,196 BNB, worth about $1.197 billion, per U.today and BNB Chain’s official data.
  • U.today reported the remaining BNB supply at 131,512,500 tokens after the burn; Ambcrypto’s tracker put cumulative burns at 69.4 million BNB.
  • Ambcrypto wrote that BNB bounced from $721 to $732 and then eased to $729, with its MACD at -7.56.
  • The 36th burn removed 1,615,827 BNB and the 35th removed 1,569,307 BNB, according to U.today, making this one slightly larger than the two before it.
  • U.today reported that BNBburn projected a 38th burn of 1,515,994 BNB, worth about $1.13 billion — a forecast, not a confirmed figure.

How this burn compares with earlier ones

U.today placed the quarterly series in context: the 34th burn removed 1,371,803 BNB, the 33rd removed 1,441,281 BNB, and the very first burn was 986,000 BNB. Much earlier quarters were far larger — the 14th burn eliminated 3,619,888 BNB and the 11th removed 3,373,988 BNB. U.today described the trend as a gradual climb after a dip, with the quarterly schedule unchanged throughout.

The size of each burn is not set by hand. U.today reported that the amount depends on two inputs: the BNB price and the number of blocks produced on BNB Chain during the quarter. That auto-burn formula is why no two burns match exactly and why anyone can verify the numbers on chain.

Supply fell, but so did momentum

Each burn shrinks total supply permanently, so every remaining token represents a larger share of the whole. Ambcrypto was direct that scarcity alone does not move price: the response depends on demand and on how much selling the market absorbs.

The demand picture was mixed. Ambcrypto reported BNB’s Spot Netflow at -$19.8 million over 24 hours, a level last seen in June, extending a week of mostly negative flows. Withdrawals from tracked exchanges reduce the BNB available for immediate trading, but Ambcrypto noted these flows did not by themselves confirm fresh buying or explain investors’ motives. On the chart, the MACD pushed deeper into negative territory at -7.56, which Ambcrypto read as bearish momentum still dominating.

Why it matters

The burn is a scheduled commitment kept on time, and U.today noted that a burn above $1 billion is a strong signal that the project continues to shrink supply as planned. That program is designed to run until half of the original BNB supply is gone. For holders, the practical question is whether reduced supply meets rising demand — a burn does not guarantee a price increase, since the market can move on many other factors. Ambcrypto flagged $717 as support below and $758 as a level buyers would need to reclaim for a run at $800.

What to watch

The next milestone is the 38th quarterly burn, due next quarter, with BNBburn’s projection of 1,515,994 BNB worth about $1.13 billion still subject to the formula and conditions at the time. Nearer term, traders will watch whether BNB holds $717 support or reclaims $758.
