LayerZero’s ZRO rose about 10% over 24 hours to reach $1.98 on October 22, Ambcrypto reported, as traders positioned ahead of the November 30 launch of the Zero mainnet and the ATLAS trading infrastructure. The token’s 24-hour trading volume climbed more than 50% to $282 million, and long positions accounted for 53% of all leveraged futures positions, according to the report.
Crypto.news and Blockonomi both reported that LayerZero announced the November 30 date on October 20, 2026, placing ATLAS as the first application on Zero. Open ATLAS will go live with more than a dozen trading venues, with more expected before the end of the year.

Key facts
- ZRO rose about 10% over 24 hours to $1.98, with trading volume up more than 50% to $282 million, per Ambcrypto.
- LayerZero set November 30, 2026, as the launch date for the Zero mainnet and ATLAS, starting with Open ATLAS and more than a dozen trading venues, according to Crypto.news.
- Long positions made up 53% of ZRO’s leveraged futures positions, Ambcrypto reported, citing Long/Short Ratio data.
- Open ATLAS venues get fee rebates of 20% to 65% based on their ZRO stake, trading volume or both; of the remainder, 25% goes to market creators and 75% to buying and burning ZRO.
- LayerZero plans initial ATLAS capacity of 200,000 transactions per second, while its technical paper describes a roadmap of 2 million transactions per second per Zone, Crypto.news reported.
ATLAS arrives as a backend, not an app
Crypto.news and Blockonomi both described ATLAS as a “headless exchange,” meaning it has no consumer interface of its own. Trading venues manage users and access, market creators define which products trade, and market makers supply liquidity. The listed product categories include spot assets, perpetual contracts, stocks, commodities, bonds and prediction markets.
The fee model ties ZRO to the trading system. Open ATLAS charges a single trading fee, and venues receive rebates of 20% to 65% depending on their ZRO stake, volume or both. After the rebate is deducted, 25% of what remains goes to market creators and 75% funds ZRO purchases and burns. Both Crypto.news and Blockonomi illustrated the split with a hypothetical $100 fee: at a 20% rebate, $80 remains, with $20 to the creator and $60 to ZRO purchases.

LayerZero’s CEO Bryan Pellegrino described ATLAS in August as infrastructure for a growing set of continuously traded assets, Crypto.news reported, saying the company built it to be “the neutral, performant backend to power them all.”
Zero’s design and existing buybacks
The Zero network separates transaction execution from verification using zero-knowledge proofs, with block producers doing computation and validators checking proofs. Activity runs in concurrent environments called Zones, and the ATLAS trading engine operates in its own Zone, separate from payments and general-purpose applications.
LayerZero already funds ZRO buybacks from Stargate revenue. Crypto.news reported that a June token update said all Stargate revenue had funded purchases since April 2026. Separately, Anchorage Digital selected LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token standard in September to connect stablecoins issued through Anchorage Digital Bank across chains, with Tether’s USAT named as the first stablecoin on the platform to launch with that interoperability.
Why it matters
The November 30 date gives ZRO traders a fixed event rather than an open-ended launch window, after LayerZero had said earlier in 2026 that ATLAS would arrive later in the year. That shift from a vague timeline to a confirmed schedule changes how the market prices the event: rallies can build into the date and unwind after it. The rally also comes with an altcoin-rotation backdrop, which Ambcrypto noted in the Altcoin Season Index reading of 51.
What to watch
Ambcrypto identified $2.0 as the next chart level after ZRO bounced from its 20-day EMA at $1.9, with $2.50 as a resistance area if the move continues. Traders will be watching whether spot buying and volume hold through the November 30 launch, since sustained demand rather than a single reaction to the announcement would be needed to extend the advance.
