Evernorth Holdings opened its first Nasdaq session on Oct. 12, 2026, with shares rising about 5% on the opening print under the ticker XRPN, Cointelegraph reported. The listing followed the Oct. 9 close of the XRP treasury company’s business combination with blank-check firm Armada Acquisition Corp. II, a deal Armada shareholders approved on Oct. 2.
The debut makes Evernorth the first dedicated public vehicle built around XRP, according to Cryptobriefing, which reported that investors wanting token exposure without wallets, keys or exchanges now have a stock to buy instead. Cryptobriefing also reported that Evernorth plans to ring the Nasdaq closing bell on Oct. 14, 2026.

Key facts
- Evernorth shares rose about 5% on the Nasdaq opening print on Oct. 12, 2026, and traded under XRPN with warrants as XRPNW.
- The company expects to hold roughly 473 million XRP, worth about $657 million at $1.39 per token, plus about $300 million in gross cash proceeds before expenses.
- Evernorth named Hugo Jeandesboz, previously co-CIO of Coinbase Asset Management, as chief investment officer the same day trading began.
- Ripple contributed 126,791,458 of the treasury’s XRP, and the backer list includes Ripple, Arrington Capital, SBI Group, Pantera Capital, Kraken and GSR, per Blockchainreporter and Cryptobriefing.
- XRP traded near $1.39 on Oct. 12, up 0.27% over 24 hours and down 7.83% over seven days, with a market cap of about $88.23 billion.
A volatile first session
Cryptobriefing reported a wider range than the opening print suggests. XRPN climbed as much as 13.43% above its starting level at the intraday high, then cooled and closed about 1.5% higher. The reports differ on framing rather than substance: Cointelegraph led with the 5% opening gain, while Cryptobriefing traced the full session arc.
The listing had been slated for Oct. 8 and slipped over administrative issues, with the merger closing on Oct. 9 and trading starting three days later, according to Cryptobriefing. Pre-merger trading in Armada was volatile by Blockchainreporter’s account, which noted Armada closed at $10.58 on Sept. 28, jumped to $39.42 on Oct. 2 and fell to $19.20 on Oct. 6.

What Evernorth holds and plans to do with it
Evernorth’s assets are mostly XRP. Cointelegraph reported the company deploys its holdings to earn additional income through decentralized finance yield strategies, and Cryptobriefing listed liquidity management, participation in the XRP ecosystem and capital markets activity alongside DeFi as the levers meant to increase the amount of XRP backing each share over time.
Blockchainreporter reported the roughly $300 million in gross cash comprised $225 million in private placements, $30 million of convertible notes and about $48 million from the SPAC trust, after holders redeemed about 80.3% of Armada’s public shares. Evernorth is led by chief executive Asheesh Birla, per that report. Cointelegraph said the company’s XRP stash would make it the largest publicly traded XRP treasury company.
XRP also moved on a ledger bug disclosure
Blockchainreporter reported RippleX disclosed a decade-old overflow bug in the XRP Ledger payment engine, in code dating to 2015, in which an unchecked 64-bit sum across offers could wrap around and create XRP beyond the 100 billion supply cap in a single validated transaction. Cayden Liao and Veria AI reported it through the bug bounty on Sept. 22, the fix shipped in xrpld 3.4.1 on Sept. 25 without an amendment, and RippleX found no evidence of exploitation on any public network.
Two amendments went live in the same stretch, per Blockchainreporter: PermissionDelegationV1_1 on Oct. 8, which lets an account grant another up to 10 specific transaction permissions without sharing keys, and BatchV1_1 on Oct. 9, which bundles up to eight transactions into one atomic unit. The next queued amendment, fixCleanup3_4_0, reached majority on Oct. 9 and can activate no earlier than about Oct. 23.
Why it matters
The clearest change is access. Some funds and retirement accounts cannot easily hold crypto directly but can buy Nasdaq-listed shares, and public companies must file financial reports, giving holders a clearer view of holdings than many crypto-native structures. The trade-off is that a share is not the token: XRPN can trade above or below the value of the XRP it holds, and DeFi yield adds smart contract and counterparty exposure a simple holding strategy avoids.
Scale matters too. Blockchainreporter put Evernorth’s roughly 473 million XRP at about 0.75% of circulating supply, so the listing changes the kind of demand for XRP rather than the amount on the market. US spot XRP ETFs added $3.14 million on Oct. 6 and $8.17 million on Oct. 8 and held about $1.56 billion in net assets, inflows that are small next to XRP’s $1.58 billion of daily spot volume.
What to watch
Watch how XRPN trades relative to the value of its XRP and how the $300 million in cash gets deployed, with Evernorth’s Oct. 14 closing bell as the next scheduled event. September CPI data arrives Oct. 13, the Federal Reserve meets Oct. 27 and 28, and on the ledger fixCleanup3_4_0 can activate no earlier than about Oct. 23. On the chart, Blockchainreporter flagged $1.37 as the retest level and $1.33 as last week’s low, with $1.52 the immediate resistance.
This article is not financial advice. Cryptocurrency and equity markets are volatile and uncertain, and XRPN shares may trade at a premium or discount to the XRP the company holds.
