Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, conditionally declared daily cash dividends on its STRC preferred stock for every calendar day in November, according to Cointelegraph. Each dividend would be payable on the business day after its record date, with payments starting Nov. 2 if the plan clears its conditions, the company said in a Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The annualized dividend rate on STRC would hold at 12% for November. Strategy said management will keep recommending that rate until the stock shows sustained, healthy trading near $100 per share. STRC traded at $99.32 on Friday afternoon and was down 0.2% at the time of the Cointelegraph report.

Key facts

  • Strategy declared STRC cash dividends for each calendar day from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30, with payments beginning Nov. 2.
  • STRC’s annualized dividend rate stays at 12% for November, unchanged from the level set in June.
  • The plan needs common stockholders to approve an amendment at a special meeting on Oct. 28 at 10:00 a.m., with the amended documents filed by Nov. 1.
  • Strategy added 250 Bitcoin for $21.5 million and held 848,250 BTC as of the Cointelegraph report.
  • The November total payout is $1.00 per STRC share whether or not the daily structure takes effect, according to Cryptobriefing.

What changes for STRC holders

STRC currently pays semi-monthly dividends of $0.50 per share, summing to the same $1.00 over a month, Cryptobriefing reported. If the amendment passes, those semi-monthly payments are suspended and replaced with the daily schedule; if it fails, the existing semi-monthly arrangement simply continues. News.bitcoin reported that daily dividends would be $0.03 or $0.04 per share, accruing on weekends and holidays, with payments for multiple days possibly combined when banks are closed. If the conditions are not met, Strategy keeps its current arrangement, including a previously declared payment scheduled for Nov. 15 — which the daily payments would replace rather than supplement.

Strategy filed a preliminary proxy on Sept. 25, 2026 seeking shareholder support for daily accruals on STRC and three other preferred series. Cryptobriefing reported that daily record dates for those securities are expected to begin Jan. 1, 2027, subject to approvals, while News.bitcoin identified them as STRF, STRK and STRD, which currently pay quarterly. The reports also agree the dividends, if declared, are expected to be treated as non-taxable returns of capital for U.S. federal income tax purposes, up to each shareholder’s tax basis.

Why it matters

STRC is one of Strategy’s main fundraising vehicles for Bitcoin purchases, so the terms attached to it shape how the company raises capital without heavy dilution of its common stock. More frequent dividends could shorten the gap between payment and reinvestment, improve liquidity and help pull the shares toward their $100 par value — a level they have not held since May, with a low of $71 in June, per Cryptobriefing. The company has been buying back STRC aggressively: it spent about $368.7 million repurchasing shares between Sept. 28 and Oct. 11 against roughly $50.2 million on Bitcoin in the same stretch, News.bitcoin reported, numbers that differ from Cointelegraph’s account of a $176 million repurchase in the week ending Oct. 4 versus $28 million in Bitcoin purchases.

Whether the schedule starts in November depends on the shareholder vote and the timely filing of the amended certificate. Nothing in the disclosed terms raises the company’s total regular dividend obligations.

What to watch

The special shareholder meeting on Oct. 28 is the next gate, followed by the Nov. 1 deadline for the amended STRC documents to take effect. A failure at either point leaves the semi-monthly schedule in place, including the Nov. 15 payment.

This is not financial advice; preferred share and digital-asset markets are volatile and uncertain.
